CARGO CENTER started operations in Montevideo, Uruguay, originally as Custom Brokers, in 1978 under the name R.A.PORTA S.R.L. Today we count with branch offices in every frontier crossing point or Customs Office's location in Uruguay.


One year later, as a result of increased business, we added Air and Sea Freight Forwarding and changed our name to CARGO CENTER. In 1998, coincidentally with our 20th anniversary, we added the word LOGISTICS to our name, to better reflect the different services we provide.


Back in 1983 we also added International Courier services; first as agents for Federal Express, until they established their own branch office in Uruguay. Since 1991 and until 1998 we were exclusive representatives of TNT Express Worldwide courier in Uruguay. Presently we run our own International Courier operation and we have also added Domestic Courier services.

We offer full access to all Free Trade Zones in Uruguay. We handle full range of possible operations in Free Trade Zones and are capable of providing warehousing, picking/packing, assembly, labeling and reshipping services.


We currently have 1000 m2 of warehousing space at Montevideo Free Trade Zone and can increase immediately our warehousing space availability, through joint ventures, according to our needs.


CARGO CENTER LOGISTICS also operates warehousing facilities within Montevideo Port's area consisting 2000 m2 of warehouses authorized as bonded warehousing area.


Our Head office in Montevideo is in an ample, restored, colonial house located in the center of the old city, which is the heart of the business and financial area; it is three city blocks from Montevideo Port and 30 minutes by car from the airport. We are equipped with state-of-the-art communications technology, fully networked internally. Radio and cellular systems link our staff and mobile units. We are on-line with Customs and are also on the Internet.
